No samples please...

I had been so busy the past few days updating my other blog, that I had no time for anything. Today, I finished work and came home so happy. Normally, I come home exhausted, but today I was contented and happy that I had achieved something at school.

If you recall when you were young and was asked to draw a house, you probably drew the same kind of house most of them in your class would have drawn. I found myself drawing a square house, with a triangular roof, with two small square windows in the center and a rectangular door. Does it ring a bell?

Well today, I was teaching my class about shapes. For an activity, we were going to make our own 2D houses. I refrained from having any sample work. So, they had to rely solely on their creativity.

I was so pleased with the result. Take a look.

The norm looking house, except for the interlinking triangular windows.
This one doesn't have a square home base, it's two circles, instead.
This one has the windows in the attic.
This one is a creative way to live.
Yet another creative way to live.
This one has two roofs.

It's for reasons like these that I love my job. The satisfaction that comes from teaching is priceless.
