Family Game Nite

Unlike most families, we hardly play games together. So many games that Ivan just could not comprehend, plus the concept of taking turns was overwhelming for him. Am so glad that we kicked started this new tradition today. Since I got him the board game the other day, I had been planning on a Family Game Nite. And I am so proud to say that finally it has come to pass.

So many things were experienced in this one activity. Ivan was captivated with all the Ice Cream pictures on the board. Patiently, we guided him through the motions of the game. He rolled the dice and he added the numbers together. He was given "money" and made decisions to buy stuff. We all joined in and I was so proud of Immanuel for being so patient. Family Game Nite was a success.

The boys are back home

Pete and the boys had went on a holiday to India, to visit my father in-law. Today they are coming home. I arose early this morning and yawned my way to the airport. I decided that I was going to be lazy and just take a cab there. Around 7.30am my boys strolled out of the Budget Terminal Arrival Hall.

Immanuel was so grumpy that even the photo didn't want to capture his expression. The whole idea was to have breakfast at the Terminals before heading home. Unfortunately, Ivan was sleepy and Immanuel was grumpy. So we headed home to Broadway to have local prata for breakfast.

The three of them turned in and caught up on much needed sleep. Immanuel broke the record by sleeping for seven hours straight. Since they all slept through lunch we headed out for an early dinner. Having had India food all week, we went for some Thai.

I was very surprised when Ivan ordered Kway Teow, as he had never done before. This trip had caused some changes in Ivan and we want to scaffold it for the better.

It was refreshing having Thai after a while. And we had a great time catching up on things.

Interesting board game

I found this

Aren't these just so cute?

Additions to my kitchen

After coming home from town, I spent some time taking down recipes from the Asian Food Channel. I am so happy to start cooking with a different goal this time. I an trying to go as healthy as I can, without dieting and depriving myself.

I don't know about others, but I love to have beautiful things around me as I work. I pampered myself with these chopping boards I got from Robinson's yestrerday.

And I also added a few new bottles of spices onto my spice rack. Now I am all set, once the guys get back, it's cooking for the family again.

healthy eating

The boys have left for a trip to India. I found myself eating, sleeping and watching television the whole day. So on day two I decided to go down to town to pick up some things. I called my sis and nephew to tag along.

That little boy has a big attitude.

I decided on the Panini sandwich.

Off for some coffee...

Empire State

It was a while since my family and I went down to Causeway Point. My hubby Pete suggested that we went down to see what had been added to the mall after the renovations. I was walking around with my family looking for a place for lunch. I saw this new place that looked nice, called Empire State.

We sat down and placed our orders, interestingly the waiter tells us that sandwiches were not served on weekends. We wanted to go else where, but Ivan was rather insistent that he had waffles. Since he was cranky we stayed on.

I love having soup, but I wasn't very happy with this soup however. It was a mushroom soup, but I found it rather blend and watery. The garlic bread however, was soft and blend too.

Pete wanted to order wings, so we did. I did find the wings alright though.

I wanted to watch what I eat so i opted for salad and liked my salad, it was nice.

As usual my son Immanuel, opted for a salmon dish too.

Ivan got the kids meal, as he was going to have the waffle. (secretly I was hoping that the mini burger would be just as awesome as the ones at Swensen's)

This was the reason why we decided to stay and it was pretty nice. I liked the chocolate that they poured over the waffle. The waffle was crisp and just right. We had it fast, the chocolate had no chance make the waffle soggy.

We spend the rest of the time there shopping, and came home pretty exhausted.

Bye Bye

It was time to send Ida off to the airport. It was a rather quick goodbye. After which the three of us headed for some breakfast.
Here's Ivan smiling for us, as he starts off with his puff.
Truly a multitasking guy, he has to do a few things at a time.

Of course coffee and a puff is not going to do it for me. I am a breakfast person, so I went for the Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken. Unfortunately, the taste was not what I had expected.

But there was nothing a little sweet could not fix. So I headed back to the counter to order these.

Just us two

Whenever Pete goes away on job assignments, it's so long before we meet again. This trip we missed Christmas, New Year's and his birthday. So to surprise him altogether, I got us a room at the Crowne Plaza @ the Airport. We need some time away from the kids to connect with each other, to catch up on all that we had missed up on.
It was a very last moment idea, we were suppose to take a vacation to Bintan or Batam again once he gets back. But with so little time, I figured I could surprise him with a getaway, in Singapore, just us two.

I was very glad to see that the room I had chosen was actually the one featured in the site. I hate it when you book something, expecting that and you are given a different one, not up to your expectations.

Here's a picture facing the entrance of the room.

Here's me taking my own picture...

I like this shot.

Visitations at my cousin's place

It's never Christmas unless you go about visiting. Since my in- laws were away on holiday, the boys and I visited my parents. After that we headed over to my cousin's place. He had specifically requested that our Tyke was on the guest list.

It's difficult to get Kiki in the picture.

Here's a picture of Immanuel, Alisha and Tyke.

"You mean I can't eat all the chicken wings?"

Christmas with Kiki

It was a quiet Christmas at the Gomez's household.
