a time for everyone

My elder son, Immanuel, had just returned home from a three day NPCC camp. I must say that I was pretty upset and anxious to let him go. It was like yesterday, that he went to preschool and now he is already thirteen years old. I must say that being a mum of a teenager, is a brand new experience for me.

I was missing him much as he was away. But I used the weekend to spend time alone with my other ten year old son, Ivan. Ivan has been diagnosed with autism when he was around two. Thus, It is important to spend time alone with him. I practice this time alone routine, when ever I have the chance. Should I have one kid busy and the other free, I would immediately plan something to do.

I feel that spending time with your loved ones is very very important. When my boys were young, my hubby and I had a pack to distribute our weekends. In a month, one weekend would go for the hubby and the guys, another weekend was for the boys and us. Then another weekend for me and the gals and the last weekend would be for the hubby and I alone. (romantic dinner date)

I must say that with this arrangement, we all had time and space for ourselves. It is very important that you and your partner have enough time and space for each other and from each other. We all play many roles and we need enough time between the intervals.
