Bintan: Getting there

Recently, my hubby came home after a 90-day job. It was a crazy length of time to be away from us. The boys were so glad to see him, even Tyke. We knew that this time, we really needed a short vacation. It's been almost 12 years since, we went on a vacation, just the two of us. Furthermore, now that we have a helper, the oppurtunity seems all the more possible. So Peter, booked the details on-line, while I still had another day of work to go, before my leave.

This time, the destination was Bintan. We have both yet to visit Bintan, so here goes.

Day One, Wednesday,01 Jun 2011
This time our ferry ride would depart from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. We bid farewell to Immanuel, as Ivan was at school camp, and left. Reached the ferry terminal, and waited for an exciting getaway. As the hubby was feeling generous, he insisted on booking the Emerald Class. And what do you know, it was first class all the way. We were escorted to the Emerald Louge, for complimentary drinks.
Then as I relaxed, Peter got to all the necessary paper work. It was a great start.
After that, I went out into the balcony of the Lounge to snap some shot.
The call for boarding came, and we were escorted to a buggy to ride us to the ferry entrance.
That was cooly embarassing actually.
Here I am comfortably seated on the Ferry, looking forward to a get vacation.
Here's Peter chilling away.
And here's the toy that we fidgeted with while on our ferry ride.
I had just bought a Galaxy Tab and Peter found a great interest in it.

Upon reaching the Ferry Terminal in Bintan, we were a little lost. Then we realised that there was a shuttle bus service to our hotel, which we had just missed. Since it was raining, we thought we would take a cab. We were surprised to know that our short cab ride costs, us S$22. Seriously! But hey, we were on a holiday, so just enjoy right. We reached in a couple of minutes, and checked in.

The hotel suite was very bright and had a chalet feel to it, unlike the conventional hotels, we normally took.
We were greeted with bold orange as we entered our suite.

Love the simple, chic decor of the room.
And here's the bathroom, which I was pleased with.
Always appreciate a very clean bathroom.
And since we chose a Sea Facing room, our balcony looks out into the South China Sea.

Vain snapshots, before we changed and headed out for lunch.

Upon, reaching there, we were already of relax mode. Life was good, moving slow and we cherished every moment we had alone. We had so much to catch up on, since Peter was away for three months. Plus, I had so much to share with him on the book I was writing.
I finally had a chance to wear my tube dress. Was excited to head to the beach, but was hungry, so we stopped to get some lunch. Since the hotel was in a remote place. We decided to dine in for lunch.

Venue: Kopi-O        Food: Average
After lunch we headed out to the beach.
